Electrician/ Facilities/ Maintenance

Compliance Corporation has an immediate opening for an experienced Electrician/ Facilities/ Maintenance position located at U. S. Navy Webster Field in Saint Inigoes, Maryland.

Electrician

  • Performs a variety of electrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance or repair of equipment for generation, distribution or utilization of electric energy in an establishment.
  • Work involves most of the following:
  • Installing or troubleshooting any of a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units and conduit systems.

 

Experience:

This position requires seven (7) years of experience in performing the foregoing functions, and candidate must have experience in electrical interface and installation of electrical equipment for power systems; including single phase and three (3) phase power and demonstrated experience in installing electrical panels, sub-panels, grounding systems, four hundred (400) cycle and other shipboard power systems. This position requires:

1) Maryland Master Electrician License,

2) St. Mary’s County Electrician License; and,

3) High School Diploma or High School equivalency certification.

 

Facilities/ Maintenance

  • The General Maintenance Worker performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge (but not proficiency) in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work.
  • Work involves a variety of the following duties: replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors, using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings, repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets painting structures and equipment; repairing or replacing concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks, replacing damaged paneling and floor tiles, hanging doors and installing door locks, replacing broken window panes, and performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery.
  • Work is assigned once pre-approval checklists have been formally accepted through Division and NAVFAC management decisions authorize work to proceed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Experience:

This position requires four (4) years of experience in performing the foregoing functions with two (2) years’ experience performing general trades maintenance work.

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required

Welder/ Eng Tech III

Compliance Corporation has an immediate opening for an experienced Welder position located at U. S. Navy Webster Field in Saint Inigoes, Maryland.

Basic Functions:

  • Functions as an instrumentation and mechanical engineering technician with expertise in welding, and brazing techniques, who applies engineering methods and principals to the design, layout and construction of heavy electronic equipment systems foundations and framing.
  • Plans, designs, lays-out and constructs and welds metal components together to fabricate or repair products, such as machine parts, plant equipment, sheet metal chassis and boxes, foundation frames, and tower ladders, according to layouts, blueprints or work orders using brazing and a variety of arc and gas welding equipment.
  • Selects material to be used based on knowledge and understanding of the proposed application.
  • Conducts site surveys and assists in modification of design as appropriate; performs related tasks such as thermal cutting and grinding; repairs broken or cracked parts; fills holes and increases size of metal parts.
  • Also, may be required to mount and install finished product aboard ship or at remote sites.
  • Set up, operate, or tend welding, soldering, or brazing machines or robots that weld, braze, solder, or heat treat metal products, components, or assemblies. Includes workers who operate laser cutters or laser-beam machines.

 

Experience:

  • This position requires four (4) years of experience in performing the foregoing functions:

1) Documented skills with welding sheet metal, aluminum, stainless steel and sheet steel;

2) Documented skills with the use of both Plasma and arc torches for cutting and burning requirements;

3) Documented skills with the use of TIG, heli-arc and MIG systems.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or High School equivalency certification;
  • Completion of a technical school, trade school or advanced technical school curriculum or course of training in mechanics or engineering technology; or completion of at least twenty-four (24) semester hours of course of studies at an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific or technical curriculum; and
  • Must be a certified welder (Welders shall be certified IAW with AWSD17-1 for (minimum) processes of: GTAW and GMAW; and material groups 1b, and 1V).

Fiberglass Technician/ Eng Tech (Mid/Sr)

Compliance Corporation has an immediate opening for an experienced Fiberglass Technician position located at U. S. Navy Webster Field in Saint Inigoes, Maryland.

Basic Functions:

  • The technician selects and adapts plans, techniques, designs, or layouts, contacts personnel in related activities to resolve problems and coordinate the work, reviews, analyzes, and integrates the technical work of others related to fiberglass and composite components and structures.
  • Designs, develops, and constructs major units, devices, or equipment; conducts tests or experiments; analyzes results and redesigns or modifies equipment to improve performance; and reports results.
  • Analyzes technical data to determine applicability to design problems; selects from several possible design layouts; calculates design data; and prepares layouts, detailed specifications, parts list, estimates, procedures, etc.
  • This position repairs fiberglass and composite structures using pneumatic tools and knowledge of fiberglass and composite repair techniques, cuts away damaged fiberglass and other composite materials, using air grinder, smooths edges of painted surface using sandpaper or air-powered sander, masks surrounding undamaged surface, using masking tape, cuts plastic separating film using shears, and tapes film to outside repair area.
  • Mixes polyester resin and hardener according to specifications and applies mixture to repair area, soaks matting in resin mixture and layers matting over repair area to specified thickness, peels separating film from repair area and washes surface with water, occasionally secures new panel to repair area using C-clamp.
  • The technician may apply and spread filler manually to reestablish surface.
  • The technician also manually files away excess filler to match original contour, smooths filler, using air sander, and cleans repair area with air gun.

Experience:

  • This position requires eight (8) years of experience in performing the foregoing functions with three (3) years’ experience in performing fiberglass repair of antennas, radomes, or similar products. This position also requires:

Education:

  • High School Diploma or High School equivalency certification; and,
  • Completion of a technical school, trade school or advanced technical school curriculum or course of training in mechanics or engineering technology; or completion of at least twelve (12) semester hours of course of studies at an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific or technical curriculum.

Engineering Technician (Level II, III, IV, and V)

 

Description of Duties:

Performs non-routine assignments of substantial variety and complexity, using operational precedents that are not fully applicable.  Assignments are typically parts of broader assignments and are screened to eliminate unusual design problems.  Receives technical advice from supervisor or senior engineer. Work is reviewed for technical adequacy (or conformity to instructions).  Provides system design, integration, installation, test and evaluation, and repair and validation of Combat Identification, Air Traffic Control (ATC), and Electronic Counter Measures Systems (ECMS), equipment, systems and subsystems.

The Technician may be assisted by lower level technicians and has frequent contact with professionals and others supporting the program.  Performs duties such as:

  • Developing or reviewing designs by extracting and analyzing a variety of engineering data, applying conventional engineering practices to develop, prepare, or recommend schematics, designs, specifications, electrical drawings and parts lists. (Examples of designs include detailed circuit diagrams; hardware fittings or test equipment involving a variety of mechanisms and cooling systems).
  • Conducting tests or experiments requiring selection and adaptation or modification of a wide variety of critical test equipment and test procedures and preparation of test reports.
  • Applying methods outlined by others to limited segments of research and development projects, constructing experimental or prototype models to meet engineering requirements; conducts tests or experiments and evaluates data and reports findings.

 

Education/Qualifications:

 

Education:  High School diploma or GED.  Completion of a technical school, trade school, or advanced armed services technical school curriculum or course of training in electricity, electronics, avionics, mechanics, armaments/ordnance, or engineering technology; or completion of at least thirty (30) semester hours of course studies at an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical curriculum.

Experience: At least ten (10) years of experience in performing engineering technician functions for Combat Identification, Air Traffic Control ATC), or Electronic Counter Measures Systems (ECMS), equipment, systems and subsystems or similar equipment, systems and subsystems.

Electronics Technician (Maintenance) Level I, II, and III

 

Description of Duties:

Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturers’ manuals or similar documents. Examples of such problems include determining the location and density of circuitry, evaluating electromagnetic radiation, isolating malfunctions, and incorporating engineering changes.  Assignments typically require an understanding of the interrelationships of circuits, exercising independent judgment in performing such tasks as making circuit analyses, calculating wave forms, and tracing relationships in signal flow, using complex test instruments such as high frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and complex computer controlled equipment. Work is reviewed by supervisor for general compliance with accepted practices. Senior technicians may provide technical guidance to junior level technicians.

 

Education/Qualifications:

 

Education:  High School diploma or GED.

Experience: Progressively responsible experience performing electronics technician functions on complex electronic equipment, systems and subsystems.

Senior Engineer (Electronics or Electrical)

 

Description of Duties:

Applies and integrates engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, and design, develop, implement, test and evaluate military Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Combat Systems, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) systems.  Reviews and prepares engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation. Applies engineering experience to perform functions such as system integration, configuration management, QA testing, or acquisition and resource management.  Analyzes designs, develops, implements, tests and evaluates software, components, or systems related to engineering or functional requirements of military C5ISR systems, and associated support systems, or management information systems.  Performs tasks with little or no guidance. Demonstrated knowledge and engineering expertise in military C5ISR systems.

 

Education/Qualifications:

 

Required Education: Master’s Degree – MS or MA degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or a bachelor’s degree plus four (4) years of additional professional engineering experience may be substituted for a Master’s Degree.

Experience: At least 10 years of progressively responsible professional engineering experience performing Electrical or Electronics engineering work.
