Duties and Responsibilities

  • Acts as the overall site lead and manager for the Industrial and Production contracted effort in support of a Navy program or project.
  • Serves as the primary interface and point of contact between Program Manager and the Project Manager overseeing contractor personnel working the technical and program or project issues.
  • Formulates policies, manages production operations and plans the use of materials and human resources of the site team.
  • Plans, directs or coordinates the operations of the engineering, prototyping and fabrications shop, overseeing multiple artisan departments. Duties include leading a team of skilled artisans and craftsmen in support of a broad range of machine shop functions.
  • Duties also include coordinating the development of detailed cost estimates for incoming work and development and update of shop load plans and status reports for all pending work.

Summary:  The Coordinator is expected to be highly knowledgeable about all aspects of Machine Shop manufacturing process with at least 5 years of experience in metal fabrication.  The Coordinator shall interface and liaise with the customer for all incoming work.  For manufacturing planning and estimating purposes, the coordinator must be knowledgeable in but not limited to CNC machining, water jet operations, punch operations, metal forming and fabrication, and fiberglass/ composite repair.  The coordinator shall estimate all incoming work and provide good advisory support to customers, accurately assess tasks and project problems in advance.  The coordinator  will have a working relationship with shop lead and supervisor, procurement personnel, technicians, and inspectors in order to ensure that work is completed most efficiently with respect to cost and schedule, create material kits for processing are available when needed by technicians to meet customer requirements and oversee or assess efficiency and end-quality of project tasks. In addition to the necessary technical knowledge, the Coordinator shall work closely with the Design Team (Design engineers, Designer, and Drafter) to accomplish all tasks.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Machine Shop Coordinator has the following tasks:

  • Interface with the Customer.
    • Coordinate Due Dates
    • Provide Cost Estimates, including the following
      • Review drawings including notes
      • Determine amount of work required
      • Document in a Quote
      • Create material list for procurement of materials
    • Contact the Customer if any problems arise.
  • Interface with inventory and procurement personnel to ensure that all materials are available when needed by Artisans
  • Support Engineering Team
    • Mechanical Design consultation.
    • Route work requests requiring design and /or review to Engineering Team
  • Procurement Support
  • Provide Quality Assurance of Parts
  • Maintain Records
  • Communicate with management and facility personnel, providing information on project status and expected completion dates.
  • Reads blue prints, sketches and specifications to plan and layout various projects.
  • Inspects work in progress and upon completion to assure all requirements are met.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:  

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Must be able to obtain Secret security clearance.

 

 

Knowledge: 

  • Must be capable of reading blueprints and make accurate measurements. Must have a general knowledge of the related trades.  Computer savvy – Word, Excel and the ability to learn new programs.

Skills: 

  • Must be a highly skilled journeyman in one of the following trades: Machinist, Sheet Metal or Welding. Must be capable of planning and estimating time and materials for all jobs.

 

Education and Experience: 

  • High School Diploma or High School equivalency certification.
  • Completion of a technical school, trade school or advanced technical school curriculum or course of training in mechanics, or engineering technology; or, completion of at least 24 semester hours of course studies at an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific or technical curriculum.
  • Five years of experience in performing the foregoing functions.
  • At least 2 years of the foregoing total experience shall have included the development of prototype hardware and devices for installation aboard ship, on aircraft or at shore stations.
  • Specific experience shall include documented knowledge of Engineering Drawing Standards, CNC programming standards, Corrosion control coatings including powder coating, and Composite damage assessment and repairs.

OR

  • High School Diploma or High School equivalency certification
  • Eight years experience performing the foregoing functions.

Basic Functions:

Assist in the repair of damaged fiberglass/composite surfaces, such as antennas and  radomes.

Major Duties:

  • Assist journeyman tradesman in a variety of composite/fiberglass assignments
  • Identifies weak or delaminated areas requiring repair
  • Cuts away damaged areas using the appropriate tools and proper techniques
  • Assist technician with restoring fiberglass in accordance with antenna/radome specifications and military requirements

  • Assist technician with cutting out and restoring copper screen and core materials as required

Job Title: Machinist/ Eng Tech/ CNC Operator

Job Description: A professional machinist who is responsible for setup and operating machine tools to produce precision metal parts for: military shipboard, ground, or aircraft systems. Will work in a 50-man, highly-capable & modern shop, with integrated metal/plastic fabricating capabilities. Candidate will setup/program and perform machining operations to produce prototype or small production batches of parts. 1. Candidate will be capable of competent operation of legacy machine tools for production of precision parts; including lathes, milling machines, grinders and saws. 2. Candidates will be highly capable in use of CNC machines, including machining centers, lathes, and cutting machines. 3. Will review CAD file or printed drawings and specifications, and interface with design engineers, drafters, shop foreman, or technicians to plan each task assignment. 4. Will plan sequences of operations and make necessary calculations or do needed CAD file transfer or programming for setup of CNC machines. 5. Will be familiar with different materials (steel, aluminum, brass, etc.) and the impact to planning and machine programming. 6. General Experience:

  • Assist the Quality Assurance Inspector in the following roles:

ENGINEERS, Electrical 

Senior Engineer to support a Federal Government client at our St. Inigoes, MD location. This position shall apply systems engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, test, and/or evaluate Customs and Border Protection mobile or tower-based sensor systems (NIR & VIS cameras, radars, laser illuminators, ground-based acoustic sensors, etc.)

Job Summary:

  • Follow systematic processes to investigate, research, design, development, and test of system components/equipment/subsystems.

Required Qualifications:
